Our Journey

25 Years of Shaping Futures

2001

Conception

The Intelligentsia Academy was conceived with a vision to provide quality education rooted in strong Devine values.

2005

Primary School Expansion

Research and Development own’s Educational Philosophy, Values and Vision for the Academy

2010

Secondary School Launch

Launched the junior and senior secondary school programs to provide complete K-12 education.

2015 - 2020

Modern Campus

Quested for Location and Acquisition of TIA Physical Site, and the gradual construction of the school’s physical infrastructure.

2020

Student Intake

Opened the doors to its first cohort of students, marking the beginning of its educational journey.

2025

Operational Intent declaration and Test running of its Daarut - Tahadhiib Islamic Education Unit

April 2026

Moved to the purposely built Ultra-Modern Campus [with Classrooms, Laboratories and Islamic & Educational Resource Centre] at Afoni village, Alakia Airport, Ibadan, Nigeria.

September 2026

Digital Transformation

Implemented digital learning platforms and smart classroom technology.

Our Education Philosophy

TIA moves away from rote memorization (Taqlid) toward a transformative pedagogy (Tarbiyah) through:

Critical Open Dialogue: Instead of just "telling" students what is right, teachers must facilitate a dialogue where students can ask "why."
Integrated Curriculum: Religion is not a separate silo but is woven into science, history, and ethics.
Identity Formation: The goal is to produce "Modern Muslims" who are comfortable in their faith while being active, critical citizens of Nigeria and the world.
Teacher as Facilitator: Move away from the authoritarian "Master" model to a "Mentor" model.
